Career Overview
Arno de Jong began his career at NRC Media in 1996 as a Product Manager, directing marketing campaigns and media strategies for NRC Handelsblad. He coordinated with editorial and sales teams and managed media strategies, gaining valuable experience in the media sector. In 1998, he moved to PCM Uitgevers as Head of Circulation, overseeing marketing and commercial operations for Rotterdams Dagblad. His role included consumer marketing, new media projects, and distribution, managing over 40 employees.
De Jong advanced his career in 2003 at Algemene Media Groep as Marketing Director. He handled marketing for four newspaper brands and introduced AD Sportwereld, the Netherlands’ first sports daily. He managed four marketing teams and a central Marketing Support staff. Following this, in 2005, he joined AD NieuwsMedia as Director of Readers Market, focusing on branding, advertising, sponsorship, Direct Marketing, and CRM. He led a team of 100 employees and six direct reports, improving B2C performance.
In 2009, de Jong became Directeur Media & Marketing at Eredivisie Media & Marketing CV, part of FOX International Channels. He commercialized media and sponsorship rights for Eredivisie clubs and managed relationships with cable companies and telcos, contributing to the rebranding of Eredivisie Live to FOX Sports. He also joined De Lotto as Director of Marketing in 2014, managing marketing for draw-based games, instant games, and sports betting. He played a key role in merging De Lotto with De Nederlandse Staatsloterij to form Nederlandse Loterij.
As CMO of Nederlandse Loterij since 2016, he led commercial strategy, digital transformation, and managed over 120 professionals. Appointed CCO in July 2024, he oversees the P&L of all brands and channels, develops commercial strategies, and manages over 200 professionals.
